Charles is nine years old today. He opened many presents this morning, but we let him play with one present last night. Everyone except Alice stayed up late, Mom stuffing envelopes and the rest of us using Charles’ present to make what you see below.

No, stop motion software. We already had the video camera. Charles, Corwin, and I spent about two hours working on it, to produce 4 seconds of video. The boys mostly kept on until the end. They were more patient than I thought they would be and they really liked the end result. The software makes it much easier to do and now they appreciate other people’s animation a lot more.
