Charles has been suffering from some dry skin on the back of his hands this winter, much worse than we have seen before. Mom went out and bought some moisturizer and I have been trying to convince Charles to apply it. Charles’ excuses were that (1) Mom hadn’t put it on him (2) It wasn’t in the upstairs bathroom and (3) I hadn’t specifically told him to use it. I had naively presumed that since Charles was the one suffering, he might be somewhat motivated to act on his own. Silly Daddy!

My hands get exactly the same way. Cracked skin on the third knuckles that bleed whenever I clench my hands. Gobs of Vaseline with a pair of socks on the hands before going to bed usually does the trick.
