I had to go to Chicago for the day for work, so I had to miss Charles’ school’s costume parade (no costumes at Middle School for Corwin). I just barely made it back in time for the evening activities — I literally jumped a gate to get in to the departure lounge after the last call. The officials started to tell me that I was too late, but then a couple of other people came up for the same train and destination and we were sent on to board.
I missed the first, pre trick or treating party at Andrew’s house. Alice and Charles went out on a campus street instead of the local neighborhood and managed to accumulate an excellent haul in a short period.
Meanwhile, Corwin was at Jack’s for another party. He and his crew had a good haul there as well. I handed out candy to a few groups of kids at our house, but traffic was very slow. So I had Mom, Alice, and Charles pick me up on their way to Jack’s party.
After some serious carousing there, we headed our exhausted way home.
