Innocence Lost

Charles has become quite a bit more difficult over the last month or so, losing his stoic and serious demeanor for a bit of rebellion and levity. I asked him about that at dinner one evening and he explained that we, Mom and I, mean and evil parents that we are, were the ones who had changed to making him do stuff. By this he meant chores, such as tidying up the basement. It seems his cooperation was dependent on not having to cooperate much. At least he is not complaining that Alice doesn’t help much, although I am sure that is coming soon (although Charles might realize that Alice is not, in fact, help even when she’s trying to be).
