As part of my efforts to drive Mom completely batty, I have been “helping” at dinner to convince the boyen to consume their dinners. I started quoting some Pink Floyd song lyrics at them, where a background voice says
If you don’t eat your meat, you can’t have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat?
Corwin tried to figure out where this was from and how this could possibly be worked in to a song. Charles just thought it was amusing and started quoting it himself. Neither boy actually ate any more of their meat, except for one night when Mom had actually made some pudding.
Ah, “The Wall”! When I went to S. Africa I taped a copy (illegally) from one of the Bop stations. I tried to show it to everyone, but since the regime was at it’s end, maybe no one thought that it was a big deal to see a banned movie. Good times!
Anyway, I think it’s pretty awesome that you quote that at the table!
